DesktopPerspective Quickstart Guide

This online Quickstart Guide was designed to step you through the initial installation and running of DesktopPerspective. Advanced topics are covered in the DesktopPerspective Reference Manual.

Installing DesktopPerspective

First, make sure that you meet the minimum requirements for your platform, including the proper Java VM. Then install DesktopPerspective:

Windows: The download EXE is the install program for DesktopPerspective. Just run this program after downloading it.

Running DesktopPerspective

Windows: Go to Start / Programs / DesktopPerspective and click on DesktopPerspective. If you are running under NT/Win2000, it is possible to configure DesktopPerspective to run as a Service.

Running DesktopPerspective for the First Time

When you run DesktopPerspective for the first time, you will be presented with a dialog box (shown in Fig 1) asking you to enter your license key and select the language you want to use in DesktopPerspective.

Just select your language to continue into the product and select one of the license key options to obtain your key. Once you have obtained a key, select the link to apply your key. The DesktopPerspective application will then launch. Additional instructions can be found in the online manual.
